In addition to dealing in our range of fine antiques, the skilled craftsmen of The Violineri offer a bespoke instrument & bow making service. Clients are invited to commission the crafting of a fine violin, viola or cello, made to order in our Melbourne workshop, and fine modern & period instrument bows made by our archetier Paul B. Shields.

Bow Making
The Violineri offers clients the opportunity to commission a bow made to their specifications by archetier Paul B. Shields. Bows are traditionally made with fine pernambuco wood, shaped and balanced by hand, with a choice of mother-of-pearl and silver or gold fittings.
Drawing upon his archive of making notes and details, Paul also offers baroque and classical bows, with screw or clip-in frogs.
